Senior Paralegal – Civil Litigation / Enforcement Location: Remote / Hybrid (Downtown Toronto-based) Compensation: $80,000–$90,000 Type: Full time The Opportunity We are seeking a seasoned, highly capable Paralegal to support a busy civil litigation and enforcement-focused practice. This role is designed for someone who can operate independently , manage complex and high-volume files, and ensure matters move forward without constant direction. You will act as a core execution partner to lawyers — owning procedural steps, tracking deadlines, preparing court-ready materials, and keeping files advancing. This is not a junior support role; it requires judgment, urgency, and accountability . Key Responsibilities: File Ownership & Execution Independently manage a large volume of active civil litigation and enforcement files Anticipate procedural steps and ensure files progress without delay Maintain complete, organized, and audit-ready electronic files Identify bottlenecks and escalate issues proactively Advanced Legal Document Preparation Draft and prepare affidavits, pleadings, motions, notices, enforcement documents, and correspondence Prepare garnishments, writs, motions to enforce, and related court materials Review documents for accuracy, completeness, and procedural compliance before filing Court & Procedural Management Handle electronic and in-person court filings end-to-end Liaise directly with court staff, process servers, and third-party vendors Maintain litigation calendars, court schedules,



and limitation tracking Client & Stakeholder Communication Act as a key point of contact for routine client and third-party communications Provide professional status updates and manage expectations Coordinate service, information gathering, and enforcement logistics Practice Support & Process Improvement Conduct procedural and legal research and summarize findings Assist with file strategy discussions by identifying procedural options Improve workflows, templates, and file-management processes Required Qualifications: Paralegal diploma/certificate from a recognized Ontario institution Licensed (or eligible to be licensed) with the Law Society of Ontario 3+ years of experience as a paralegal in civil litigation, enforcement, or collections Strong working knowledge of Small Claims Court and civil procedure Proven ability to manage files independently and proactively Excellent written communication and document drafting skills Highly organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable in a remote or hybrid environment Preferred Experience Extensive Small Claims Court experience Civil enforcement, creditor-side litigation, or collections background Experience supporting lawyers with heavy caseloads Proficiency with e-filing platforms and legal practice management systems What Success Looks Like Files move forward without lawyer prompting Deadlines are tracked and met flawlessly Court materials are accurate, complete, and timely Lawyers trust that files are being actively managed Clients and third parties receive prompt, professional communication Why This Role Works Senior-level responsibility and autonomy Competitive compensation for an experienced paralegal Remote / hybrid flexibility A fast-paced, execution-focused legal environment Opportunity to be a key operational driver within the practice
