Join the Housing Planning and Protective Services as a Bylaw Enforcement Officer with responsibilities focusing on animal control enforcement. This auxiliary role emphasizes community safety across various locations.

Operating mainly in Greater Victoria and surrounding areas, your primary tasks will revolve around investigating bylaw complaints and ensuring compliance. You will conduct field investigations, maintain case files, and engage with the community to foster responsible pet ownership. This position requires you to handle various situations with tact and diplomacy.

Key Responsibilities:
• Patrol and conduct inspections for bylaw compliance
• Initiate and document enforcement actions
• Promote responsible pet ownership in the community




• Liaise with local law enforcement and agencies
• Answer public inquiries at the front counter

Requirements:
• Completed Bylaw Level 1 or Level 2 certification
• At least one year of relevant enforcement experience
• Solid communication skills and ability to resolve conflicts
• Valid BC Driver's Licence and clear criminal record
• Experience with handling animals, including aggressive behavior
