Overview
Our client is hiring a detail-oriented CNC Plasma Operator for their Bradford West Gwillimbury facility. In this role, you will set up, program and operate Hypertherm plasma cutting tables to produce high-precision steel parts.

You’ll work from blueprints and work orders, perform in-process quality inspections, handle routine machine maintenance, and ensure compliance with all safety and production standards in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum of 2 years operating Messer (or equivalent) CNC plasma / oxyfuel cutting tables

Forklift and overhead-crane operator certification

Familiarity with OHSA and R.S.O. 1990, C.O.1 regulations and strong safety record

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings and GD&T;

Strong understanding of multi-axis profile cutting

Proficiency with on-console programming, nesting software and basic machine maintenance

Able to lift 25 kg regularly and handle repetitive motions

Flexibility to work afternoon shifts,



and occasional weekend shifts

Responsibilities

Perform CNC machine setup tasks

Load programs or manually enter simple part profiles

Adjust cutting parameters (speed, feed rate, kerf offset, torch height) per work order

Perform first-piece quality inspections and in-process checks using precision tools

Record dimensions and flag out-of-tolerance parts for correction

Change consumables (nozzles, shields, electrodes) and perform daily/weekly preventative maintenance

Use forklift or crane to load/unload plate and finished parts

Update stock levels in real time and ensure minimum consumable thresholds

Coordinate with yard crew, welders and other departments to plan workloads
