Wage: $26.00 per hour. NOC Code: 73113 - Floor covering installers. Job Type: Full-time. Location: Whitehorse, Yukon. Start Date: June 1, 2026.

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Floor Covering Installer to join our team. The successful candidate will install, repair, and replace a variety of floor coverings in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires precision, physical stamina, and the ability to work with a range of materials and tools.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect, measure, and prepare floor surfaces for installation.

Measure, cut, and install floor covering materials such as carpet, vinyl, linoleum, laminate, and other resilient flooring.

Lay and secure underpadding and foundation materials.

Stretch, tack, glue, or fasten floor coverings using hand and power tools.

Inspect completed work to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.

Remove and dispose of old floor coverings and debris safely.

Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and layout specifications.

Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area.





Follow workplace safety procedures and company standards.

Qualifications

Experience in floor covering installation is an asset.

Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and installation equipment safely and effectively.

Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.

Physical ability to kneel, bend, lift, and stand for extended periods.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Basic communication skills in English.

Completion of secondary school may be an asset.

Work Conditions

Fast-paced work workplace.

Physically demanding tasks including lifting, carrying, kneeling, and repetitive movements.

Work may take place at residential, commercial, or construction sites.

Compensation

Starting wage of $26.00 per hour.

Hours count towards journeymen or Red Seal apprenticeships.

Benefits after 3 months.
