The Role
The Bending Machine Operator works with specialized machinery to shape metal,
typically pipes or tubes, using induction heating. This role is responsible for setting up and operating bending machinery, selecting appropriate heating and bending parameters, and ensuring finished product meet quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform material layouts prior to bending
Operating bending equipment safely and efficiently
Conduct in-process inspections to ensure products meet quality requirements
Handle materials using overhead cranes
Set up and fabricate tooling as required
Load materials and adjust the machine parameters including feed rates and limits
Monitor and adjust settings during the bending process to achieve required geometry
Inspect finished products for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and defects
What You Bring
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum 6 months’ experience in multiple bending processes
Minimum 6 months’ experience in materials and shop procedures
Experience in fabrication (welding, torch cutting, etc. considered an asset)
Previous experience with overhead cranes
Must have basic math skills
Able to accurately read a tape measure
