Empower youth as a Youth Care Worker at AAFS, overseeing their development in a supportive group home environment. This role emphasizes safety, relationship-building, and cultural care.
As a Youth Care Worker, your primary responsibility will be to supervise youth in the Agency Operated Group Home. Knowledge of First Nation cultural practices, alongside direct experience with special needs youth, will be crucial. This role also involves planning activities and ensuring that youth have access to necessary resources for their development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor youth behavior and support their needs
• Plan and lead cultural and structured activities
• Write detailed reports about youth progress
• Conduct light housekeeping and meal preparations
• Collaborate effectively with the Residence Manager
Requirements:
• Child and Youth Worker Diploma preferred
• Familiarity with the Child, Youth and Family Services Act
• Experience with high-risk youth or FASD
• Valid Ontario G Driver's License
• Ability to speak Ojibway is advantageous
