Early Childhood Educator, Supply (Part-Time, One-Year Contract)
Licensed Child Care, Cornerview and Stationview YMCA
Start Date: As Soon As Possible
Compensation
Non-Members – up to $22.00 per hour (includes government wage enhancements)
Members of the College of Early Childhood Educators – up to $26.00 per hour (includes government wage enhancements)

Schedule
Monday through Friday (no weekends)
Minimum two shifts per week / eight shifts per month
Shifts range from 3 to 7.5 hours per day, between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm; flexible timing
Availability requested 4 weeks in advance via web‑based scheduling system
Shifts scheduled in advance whenever possible according to personal availability and centre needs
Responsibilities
Plan and deliver a consistent child‑centered program in line with the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum (0‑6 year olds)
Provide compassionate care and support to children and their families
Ensure continuous supervision and safety of children; comply with CCEYA, municipal, and YMCA policies and procedures

Education & Skills Qualifications
Experience with children 0‑12 years in a work or school placement setting (asset)
Intending to enroll, or in pursuit of, a diploma in Early Childhood Education, or holding a diploma or degree in a related field (asset)
Early Childhood Education graduates must be registered (or registration in process) and in good standing with CECE
Graduates in related fields must be members of the required professional associations
Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification or completion within three months; training cost is applicant’s responsibility
Applicants must be at least 18 years old for a Vulnerable Criminal Reference Check ( Up‑to‑date immunisations required by Public Health, Ministry of Education and YMCASWO
Ability to perform light to medium physical effort: lift up to 20 kg, bend, stoop
Legally entitled to work in Canada
Additional Requirements
All employees are required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record and may need a Vulnerable Sector Search.
