Position Overview
Reporting to the Director of Technical Services, this position will perform site reviews of single‑family and/or multi‑family projects that are enrolled for home warranty during construction. The role involves evaluating the quality of construction and ensuring that practices follow relevant provincial building codes and minimum construction quality standards.

Responsibilities

Conduct site reviews of recent homes and buildings during construction to ensure compliance with quality construction standards and building codes.

Escalate high‑risk reports to the Senior Manager, Technical Services.

Assist in identifying solutions to bring a project into compliance with acceptable standards.

Advise builders of deficiencies in building code, methods, materials, and workmanship.

Perform technical construction reviews for the claims department in respect of home warranty.

Provide guidance and advice on technical construction matters to the underwriting and claims departments.

Maintain strong working relationships with builders, their trades, project consultants, and other industry stakeholders.

Travel daily to construction sites in a company‑supplied vehicle, with occasional travel outside the geographical region.

Qualifications

5 years’ experience in the residential construction industry.

1–3 years of home warranty related experience (asset, not required).

Canadian Home Inspector certificate from an accredited institution (asset, not required).





Strong knowledge of residential construction procedures, methods, techniques, and building codes.

Tech savvy – ability to learn inspection‑related software, use a company phone, and use Microsoft Office products.

Knowledge of provincial work‑safe requirements.

Valid driver’s license in good standing (mandatory).

Post‑secondary education in Construction Management or Construction Science (asset, not required).

Red Seal Carpenter certificate or Journeyperson trade (asset, not required).

Salary Expectations
The expected salary range for this position is $57,000.00 to $62,000.00 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level.

Remote worker role with visits to branch locations as required.
