Do you have a strong dance background, and are you passionate about teaching dance? At Tutu School we look for magic‑makers. On our team, we want hearts that never stopped twirling and minds that thrive on creativity. We require our teachers to have a strong background in dance, great communication skills, and a commitment to our carefully crafted curriculum. Most of all, we want instructors that are invested in nurturing the big dreams of little dancers.

Tutu School is a boutique ballet school that provides a creative dance education experience for children from 6 months to 8 years old. It is a place where children are urged to fully exercise their imagination as well as their bodies, where we not only focus on teaching students age‑appropriate motor skills and the fundamental principles of ballet, but also expose them to the world of classical music and the enchanting stories of famous ballets.

Tutu School is currently seeking part‑time teacher/s for our ballet studio in North Vancouver.

Responsibilities and Duties Include

Independently teach classes (to students ages 6 months through 8 years old) with enthusiasm, positivity, and patience

Extensive training provided on Tutu School’s carefully crafted curriculum

Plan weekly classes ahead, using Tutu School curriculum and structure, while layering in creativity and variation by age division

Provide a positive and nurturing learning environment

Teach age‑appropriate ballet skills and techniques for each class division





Cultivate a child's background in ballet development through a unique, fun & encouraging environment

Teach choreography seasonally, and support recital events as scheduled

Lead and host birthday parties; lead special indoor and outdoor events; lead and host camps

Onboard new students, assist with retail purchases, and additional on‑site sales and responsibilities as needed

Assist with administrative duties related to the operation and growth of Tutu School as needed

Optional responsibilities also available in sales, marketing, outreach, event planning, management and more, for interested and qualified candidates

Communicate regularly with management and attend periodic team meetings

Engage with parents and answer any questions they might have about their child and our dance program

Brand ambassador representing Tutu School

Studio Opening and Closing duties, including disinfection of all dance props and teacher supplies in between shifts

Qualifications and Skills

Must be passionate about and have experience working with children and toddlers

Background in dance (ballet)

Musical Theatre experience a plus

Ability to remain patient and positive with children

Demonstrated confidence, with the ability to communicate appropriately with children and parents, before, during, and after class

Applicants must be enthusiastic, energetic, extremely reliable and punctual

Experience in any or all of the following: ballet, dance, performing arts, musical theatre, and/or early childhood education

Team collaboration for class coverage is required, participating in substitute or swap shifts whenever possible
