Housekeeper
Location: Moose Factory, ON

Reports to: Housing and Accommodations Coordinator

Employment Type: Permanent Full-time

Responsibilities

Provide housekeeping relief coverage at different WAHA sites (including Moose Factory, Moosonee) as needed.

Respond quickly to scheduling shortages, covering shifts on short notice.

Adapt to different facility layouts, procedures, and local site needs.

Assist with preparing and maintaining locum accommodations (temporary housing for staff and visiting professionals), ensuring cleanliness, laundry, and basic upkeep.

Coordinate with supervisors at each site to prioritize cleaning schedules and safety requirements.

Qualifications

Successful completion of secondary school or equivalency.

G or G2 Driver’s License.

Current certification in CPR, First Aid, WHMIS and Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention or willingness to obtain.

1–3 years’ experience working in a housekeeping or related role is preferred.

Experience working in a healthcare setting or a unionized environment is considered an asset.

Ability to communicate in the local native Cree language is an asset.

Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion.





Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to multi‑task.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced and constantly changing environment of hospital buildings, housing stock, related sites and grounds.

Must be knowledgeable of protected maintenance practices, procedures and guidelines and applicable regulations such as WHMIS, EPA, etc.

General knowledge and application of Occupational Health & Safety Act.

General understanding and application of IPAC best practices.

Salary
$44,167.50 to $46,371.00 per year.
