Status: Term

Responsibilities

Prepare meals as outlined on the daily menu.

Prepare food for special meetings and events.

Do preparation for the next day's meals.

Always maintain a clean and sanitary workplace.

Report any safety issues to manager.

All other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must be familiar with the Canada Food Guide and ready to prepare meals according to special dietary needs.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Reliable and able to work all shifts.

Ability to lift 10 kg.

Ability to work as a team member.

Required Experience and Skills

Successful completion of secondary school or equivalency.

Completion of Culinary School is an asset and/or one year experience in volume cooking, preferably hospital setting.





Possession of or the ability to obtain a Food Handler’s Certificate is an asset.

Knowledge of dietary department procedures.

Knowledge in the proper handling and storage of food and ability to follow the dietary sanitation code.
