Geothermal is seeking an experienced and proactive Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to establish and lead the Human Resources function at our manufacturing facility in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. This position reports directly to the Vice President, Organizational Development. This is a unique opportunity for an HR professional who thrives in a hands-on manufacturing environment and is excited by the challenge of building an HR function from the ground up.
As the first dedicated HR resource onsite, the HRBP will serve as both a strategic business partner and an operational HR leader, supporting all aspects of the employee lifecycle while helping shape and sustain the high-performance, people-focused culture that defines Swegon North America. The HRBP will act as a trusted advisor to the Managing Director and plant leadership team, providing expertise in employee relations, workforce planning, organizational development, talent acquisition, compliance, leadership coaching, change management, and culture building. The successful candidate must be comfortable working directly with hourly manufacturing employees, supervisors, and leaders while driving HR initiatives that support operational excellence and business growth.
Key Responsibilities HR Leadership & Function Development Establish and lead the Human Resources function for the Murfreesboro manufacturing operation.
Develop and implement HR processes, procedures, and programs aligned with Swegon North America standards.
Ensure local HR practices support both business objectives and employee engagement.
Serve as the primary HR contact for all employees and managers at the site.
Build credibility and trust across all levels of the organization.
Strategic Business Partnership
Act as a trusted advisor to the Managing Director and plant leadership team.
Participate in business planning discussions and provide workforce-related insights and recommendations.
Support organizational design, workforce planning, talent reviews, and succession planning initiatives.
Coach leaders on people management, employee relations, performance management, and leadership effectiveness.
Help drive the development of a strong leadership culture throughout the facility.
Employee
Relations & Workforce Engagement Build positive working relationships with hourly manufacturing employees and supervisors.
Serve as the primary resource for employee concerns, conflict resolution, investigations, and workplace issues.
Provide guidance on disciplinary matters, performance improvement plans, attendance management, and corrective action processes.
Drive employee engagement initiatives that strengthen retention, morale, and workplace culture.
Support a visible and approachable HR presence on the manufacturing floor.
Talent
Acquisition & Onboarding Lead recruitment efforts for hourly, technical, professional, and leadership positions.
Develop workforce attraction strategies in partnership with local schools, trade programs, and community organizations.
Manage interviewing, selection, and onboarding processes.
Improve time-to-fill, quality of hire, and overall candidate experience.
Serve as a champion for employer branding and employee referrals.
Performance
Management & Development Support managers in establishing performance expectations and providing ongoing feedback.
Facilitate performance review processes and leadership development initiatives.
Identify skill gaps and coordinate training and development programs.
Promote continuous learning and career development opportunities across the organization.

Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Maintain current knowledge of U.S. employment legislation and HR best practices.
Advise leadership on legal and compliance risks.
Support investigations, documentation, and employment decisions consistent with company policy and applicable law.
Partner with Safety and Operations leadership to support a safe and compliant work workplace.
Serve as the local HR contact for benefits administration, supporting employee questions, enrolment, changes, issue resolution, and coordination with internal and external benefits partners.
Support compensation administration activities and ensuring pay practices are applied consistently and in alignment with company guidelines.
Maintain HR records and documentation in accordance with legal requirements and company standards. HR Metrics, Reporting & Continuous Improvement Utilize HR data to identify trends and opportunities related to turnover, absenteeism, recruiting, and employee engagement.
Prepare reports and recommendations for leadership.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven decision making.
Qualifications Education Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
Professional HR designation required
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or equivalent.
Experience Minimum of 7 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
Minimum of 3 years supporting a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Demonstrated experience working directly with hourly production employees.
Experience establishing or significantly transforming HR processes and programs.
Experience partnering with senior leaders and influencing business decisions.
