This Position reports to: Senior Engineering Manager

As an electrical engineering intern, you will assist the test and design engineer of machine-human interfaces for mine hoist systems. You will be part of ABB Canada's Process Automation, Process Industries division and will be based in our Saint‑Laurent office. The work model is in person.

Responsibilities

Testing of winch control and supervision systems

Testing of SIL 3 brake control systems for winches

Development of operator interface for hoisting systems (ABB mine hoists)

Installation of software for operator interfaces and system maintenance computers

Helped develop and maintain winch control and supervision systems

Writing and updating technical documentation and operating manuals

Qualifications

Student in electrical engineering or automated production engineering

General programming skills

PLC (programmable logic controller) experience an asset





Valuable communication skills, able to reach out to others to ask questions

Proactivity on the job
