SPEP Nurse Learners will work in a learner capacity for up to 450 hours under the direct supervision of a preceptor to demonstrate application of nursing knowledge, skill, and judgment.



Learners will work in close collaboration with the healthcare team to demonstrate an understanding of their nursing accountabilities in line with the CNO Entry to Practice Competencies. THP will provide a supportive environment for learners to demonstrate evidence of safe practice as they assume increasing autonomy and accountability in the provision of care for patients.Key Qualifications:SPEP is available to RN applicants, including nurses returning to practice.The College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) will indicate whether an applicant is eligible for the SPEP. Check the CNO applicant portal to see what requirements you have outstanding to determine if you are eligible.Applicants are eligible if they have met all their registration requirements except for:Evidence of Practice, orEvidence of Practice and Language Proficiency.
