Position
Albreda Lodge Assistant Manager – Full Time, Seasonal (Location: Albreda Lodge, Blue River, BC). Reports to the Albreda Lodge Manager.
Overview
The Assistant Manager is responsible for the operations of Albreda Lodge in the absence of the Lodge Manager. Key responsibilities include Administration, Front Desk, Boutique, Maintenance, and Operations Supervision. The Assistant Manager ensures quality, integrity, risk management, interdepartmental communication, and a team‑based culture.
Responsibilities
Maintain in‑depth knowledge of products, services, and guest base. Monitor guest satisfaction, follow up on concerns.
Handle daily operations in coordination with the Lodge Manager, making collaborative operational decisions.
Maximize revenue across all streams such as boutique sales, liquor, and massage bookings.
In the manager’s absence, oversee dining, housekeeping, maintenance, tech shop, boutique, front desk, kitchen, guides, transportation, and down‑day activities.
Provide support, coaching, and mentorship to lodge staff.
Rebook guests for the next year with Blue River Guest Relations.
Respond to guest concerns timely and appropriately.
Assist with administrative functions: books, records, staff scheduling, cost control, supplies, and inventory.
Attend daily and weekly staff meetings to share information and make decisions.
Ensure staff task completion to meet guest expectations.
Transport guests and staff as needed (class 4 license required) or arrange transport.
Liaise with onsite guiding personnel to maintain safety objectives.
Record guest preferences for future seasons.
Maintain cleanliness, safety, and security of lodge and property through the season.
Serving Duties
Moderately physical; carrying light to moderate loads.
Prepare and set tables with appropriate presentation.
Understand wine & food products.
Serve and clear tables courteously.
Assist with dishwashing, cleaning dining and breakfast areas, polishing glassware, and cutlery.
Work early morning and late evening.
Require Serving it Right Certificate.
Housekeeping Duties
Moderately physical; exposure to cleaning chemicals.
Carry light to heavy loads and wash linens.
Clean bathrooms, work under time constraints, respect guest space.
Use and maintain housekeeping equipment correctly.
Boutique Duties
Responsible for retail sales and administrative tasks such as order placement, shipment receipt, invoice checking, and record keeping.
Maintain boutique inventory and storage areas.
Discuss profitability with the manager and make recommendations.
Keep stock room clean and organized.
Close out transactions and submit daily cashouts.
Dress in sports‑casual wear while on retail duty.
Front Desk and Administration Duties
Provide prompt acknowledgment, friendly welcome, and efficient luggage handling at check‑in/out.
Ensure waivers are completed and witnessed.
Coordinate group check‑ins with housekeeping for room readiness.
Communicate guest‑related housekeeping and maintenance issues promptly.
Keep front desk neat and organized.
Maintenance Duties
Moderately physical; exposure to cleaning chemicals, wear appropriate PPE.
Assist lead maintenance with daily tasks and projects.
Operate common tools under lead maintenance direction.
Assist with ski‑tech duties as requested.
Specific Maintenance and Sports Shop Duties
Document daily maintenance activities on the maintenance log.
Address maintenance issues as directed by management.
Perform regular maintenance of HVAC, refrigeration, hot tub, plumbing, kitchen appliances, audio, elevator, backup LPG generator.
Assist in risk prevention and emergency procedure training.
Gain system knowledge (electrical, mechanical, plumbing) for preventive and corrective maintenance.
Maintain equipment manuals and key inventory.
Operate heavy equipment safely for snow removal.
Maintain vehicle and machinery inventory; keep firewood stocked.
Ski‑technician duties: daily ski service, edge and base repair.
General Duties
Know facilities, hours, and room types.
Be resourceful and protect guest confidentiality.

Support department functions for high guest service.
Contribute to guest logbooks.
Maintain professionalism and a positive working relationship.
Attend weekly and daily meetings; adapt to power outages or emergencies.
Attend Saturday pre‑dinner guest greeting in the Great Room.
Remain flexible for seasonal hours and special requests.
Requirements and Qualifications

WHMIS Certification (training provided).

Physical ability to bend, kneel, lift moderate weight, and stand for extended periods.
Valid driver’s license.
Second language an asset (German, French, Spanish preferred).
Working Conditions
10 hours a day, 6 days a week; daily rate includes overtime per Employment Standards.
Occasional environmental exposures: cold, heat, and water.
Transport up to 50 lb on occasion, 35 lb regularly.
Indoor and outdoor work.
Long work hours; independent or team environment.
Will live in a semi‑isolated environment for contract period.
