HDR is recruiting a co‑op student for its Architecture practice in Ottawa. The role supports the design and construction process under the direction of the Lead Architect, contributing to schematic design, design development and contract documents, production of drawings, 3D views, renderings, VR walkthroughs, contract administration, site visits, client meetings, and general design discussions.
Responsibilities
The Coop student will work with the Lead Architect and other team members on tasks including, but not limited to: assisting in schematic design, design development and contract documents; preparation of floor plans, elevations, details, sections and schedules; creating 3D views, renderings and VR walkthroughs; applying architectural procedures and techniques; performing assignments with senior team instruction; handling contract administration duties; attending site visits and client meetings; and participating in design conversations and exercises.
Preferred Qualifications
1 year completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
Ability to multitask while maintaining high proficiency
Well organized with a proactive, team‑oriented attitude
Required Qualifications
Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
Attention to detail
Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
Basic Microsoft Office skills
Commitment to an employee‑owned culture
Benefits and Compensation
This temporary, full‑time position offers an hourly pay range for Ontario of $21.00‑$26.00.
