Job Description
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
As part of a multidisciplinary health care team, the Community Health Worker 1 provides various housekeeping duties, meal planning and preparation, and the promotion of a protected and healthy working environment.




Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle; and Valid BC Driver's License.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training And Experience Grade 12
Class V BC Driver's License
FoodSafe
Recent, related experience of three months
Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Or other Qualifications determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work
Skills And Abilities Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others
Ability to operate related equipment and technology (iPhones, computers)
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Ability to organize and prioritize
Ability to observe and recognize changes in clients
This is a guaranteed hours CHW1 posting. -Days Off: Friday, Saturday -Shift Details: 0800-1600
