Position Summary: Install electrical control systems in new and existing buildings, including retrofit projects in a construction environment. Working conditions may include restricted movement, dirty environments, hazardous materials, moderate physical duties, and working at heights.
Responsibilities:
Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams, and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new and existing installations
Cut, bend, thread, and install conduits and other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittings
Pull wire through conduits and ceiling spaces
Install, replace, and repair electrical control equipment such as relays, temperature sensors, actuators, and panels
Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems, remove and replace faulty components
Splice, join, and connect wire to components to form complete control systems
Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Perform tasks with minimal supervision and in accordance with Ainsworth Health & Safety policies and procedures
Perform all job functions safely, abiding by all applicable health, safety, environmental policies, and regulations
Qualifications:
Inducted Apprentice in Alberta (1st-4th Year) with conduit experience
High School diploma or equivalent from a certified college
Knowledge of electrical theory and terminology
Experience with HVAC, building electrical systems, and VFDs is an asset
Ability to read and draw simple electrical sketches and schematics
Excellent command of English, both written and oral
Strong attention to detail and ability to execute precision work
Experience in commercial/construction installations
Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract
