With over 45 years of experience, Doorland has transformed prominent buildings around the world into masterpieces, combining elegant craftsmanship with state-of-the-art machinery and software.

We are seeking a Detailer to join our manufacturing team specializing in custom and standard door production. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed shop drawings, fabrication sheets, and technical documents using AutoCAD , ensuring that all doors are manufactured to exact specifications. Proficiency in Excel is also required for maintaining cut lists, bills of materials, and production schedules.

Key Responsibilities

Interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to produce accurate door fabrication/shop drawings.

Create detailed CAD drawings for custom doors, hardware prep, glass layouts, and frame assemblies.

Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams to clarify design intent and resolve discrepancies.

Maintain and update cut lists, bills of materials, and production documents using Microsoft Excel.

Prepare take-offs and hardware schedules as required.





Support continuous improvement of drawing templates and internal detailing processes.

Ensure all drawings comply with relevant building codes, company standards, and client requirements.

Maintain accurate document control and versioning of all project-related drawings and files.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of experience in a detailing/drafting role, preferably in the door, millwork, cabinetry, or architectural metal industry.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (including formulas and formatting).

Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings.

High attention to detail and accuracy in preparing drawings and documentation.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with hardware preparation ( hinges, locks, closers, etc. ).

Experience with ERP systems or manufacturing software.

Post-secondary education in architectural technology, drafting, or a related field is an asset.

Work Conditions

Office environment with regular interaction with production and shop floor staff.
