Position
We are searching for a full‑time Dietary Aide to join our new Adeline Hall Enhanced Care team based in Bedford, Nova Scotia.

Responsibilities
Consistently ensures food quality, presentation, and service delivery meet established department standards, ensuring meals are attractive, at the correct temperature and portion size, and that service is timely
Follows production sheets to guide food preparation and assist with cost control
Stays up to date with the specific needs of each resident (diet restrictions, allergies, and special requests/accommodations)
Stays up to date with daily changes related to menus and/or residents
Familiarizes self with the specific needs of each client (diet restrictions, allergies, and special requests/accommodations)
Assists with the process for checking and receiving of deliveries and inventory control, ensuring all supplies are stored, labelled, and rotated properly
Makes sure that the servery and dining room appearance meets set standards for cleanliness, organization, and setup prior to meal service
Processes pots, pans, and dishware and maintains sanitation of dishwasher and dish sinks according to established cleaning guidelines
Immediately reports any equipment temperature issues to the manager and takes corrective action as necessary
Participates in the client and employee incident reporting and investigation process as required
Reports areas and equipment in need of repair to the maintenance department
Ensures kitchen appearance meets established standards for cleanliness and organization
Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
A high‑school diploma or GED
Proof of Food Safety Certification required
Experience in a kitchen setting is considered an asset
Previous experience in working with the elderly in long‑term care or a senior living workplace considered an asset
Bilingualism in English and French considered an asset
First Aid and CPR certification considered an asset
Ability to work flexible hours and shifts (including weekends and holidays)
Strong customer service skills and a passion for serving seniors
Experience in the culinary field and familiarity with preparing plates for clients
A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care
