About the Role
PRT is seeking a seasonal Irrigation Specialist at our Campbell Nursery in Campbell River, BC. As a key member of the forest nursery grow team, you will assist in the growing of tree seedlings used for reforestation. Your work will mainly be outdoors and may involve exposure to temperature extremes. You will receive in‑house online training.

Key Accountabilities

Mix and apply fertilizer according to the crop prescription

Take daily block weights while scouting for pests and diseases

Monitor and measure crop growth rates and conduct audits on lifted crops

Adjust watering cycles and climate settings using a computerized system

Use, maintain and repair the irrigation system

Assist in herbicide and pesticide applications

Assist in greenhouse sanitation practices

Keep neat and accurate records

Support innovation and continuous improvement

Promote collaboration and teamwork at all levels

Set targets (e.g., production, timelines) and evaluate achievement

Team & Reporting
You will work alongside growers,



nursery workers, under the direct supervision of Grower 1 and report to the Nursery Manager. Weekend work may be required during busy seasons.

Work Status
Full‑time, seasonal. Start date: July 20 2026. Competitive hourly rate: $26.44 per hour.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Great organizational and record‑keeping skills

Reliable transportation to the PRT site

Ability to work in all outdoor environmental conditions

Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks during an 8‑hour shift

Appropriate work attire

Team‑oriented personality with a positive attitude

Desire to learn and contribute to forest regeneration

Preferred: Relevant forest seedling nursery experience.
