Studies in accounting, accounting technology or bookkeeping
Work Experience
2 years or more of experience in bookkeeping/financial accounting
Experience managing financial records for stewardship programs
Experience working with accounting software, including Quick Books
Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely
General Tasks
Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
Maintain general ledgers and financial statements
Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports
Prepare trial balance of books
Arrange for billing for services
Send invoices
Ensure compliance with government regulations
Specific Tasks
Manage and maintain financial records for multiple stewardship programs, including Interchange Recycling, Call2Recycle, Product Care, and Cleanfarms, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Prepare and analyze financial reports, supporting documentation, correspondence, and backup materials for internal and external stakeholders
Maintain accounts receivable and accounts payable records, including collections, in accordance with company financial policies and procedures
Conduct annual reviews of internal financial processes to ensure alignment with stewardship program requirements and regulatory standards
Review and validate consolidated invoices prior to submission, ensuring accuracy and proper coding
Investigate billing discrepancies, resolve issues, and follow up with relevant parties to ensure timely resolution
Create and manage purchase orders; review incoming invoices and route them for appropriate approval
Review internal work orders for billing accuracy and ensure correct general ledger (GL) coding is applied
Support the preparation and execution of client and agency audits by compiling relevant financial data and documentation
