About the Role We are recruiting for nine (9) Production Floater (Machining Focus) positions to support daily operations across multiple production and machining lines at IMT Precision. The role focuses on high-level operation of automated and manual CNC lathes, welders, and presses, performing basic cutting tool changes, preventative maintenance, and quality verification using precision tools.
Job Type: Full Time – 9 Vacancies Available
Salary: $26.76/hour per CBA

Position Summary The Production Floater is a versatile, high-impact role responsible for supporting daily operations across multiple production and machining lines. Candidates must possess strong technical adaptability and the ability to work rotating shifts.
Responsibilities Operate a diverse variety of equipment, including CNC lathes, welders, and presses on both automated and manual lines.
Load and unload raw parts into machinery with high precision and care.
Perform basic cutting tool changes to minimize machine downtime.
Follow the designated preventative maintenance program on all assigned equipment.
Perform basic troubleshooting of equipment and tooling within the scope of training.
Perform strict quality checks to verify dimensional accuracy.
Utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, go/no-go gauges, length gauges, and bore gauges.
Ensure all Work-in-Progress (WIP) meets precise process standards and organizational quality metrics.
Complete required quality and production documentation accurately.
Seamlessly transition between different automated and manual cells depending on plant operations and production priorities.
Support continuous improvement, mentor new operators when required, and provide team flexibility.
Maintain a secure, clean, and organized workspace.
Adhere strictly to manufacturing safety guidelines and report any equipment or process risks immediately.
Requirements and Skills Education: Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.
Experience: Extensive experience operating manufacturing machinery, specifically CNC lathes or automated production cells.
Tool Competency: Proven experience using calipers, micrometers, and various specialized gauges. (Blueprint reading is not required).
Shift Availability: Must be fully flexible to rotate across all three shifts (Days, Afternoons, Nights).
