Position Title: Deductions Specialist, North America

The Deduction Specialist manages a portfolio of accounts, analyzing and resolving deduction and payment claims for both trade and non‑trade spend. The role includes prioritizing collection and deduction resolution, managing invalid claims, assembling deduction accounting data, conducting financial analysis, and supporting cash preservation and revenue generation initiatives. The position involves regular interaction with cross‑functional personnel and direct customer contacts.

Responsibilities

Research, analyze, and process payment and deduction claims in accordance with agreements, departmental processes, systems, and audit requirements.

Manage the invalid deduction process from start to finish, including escalation when appropriate to Commercial Finance, Control, and Field Sales.

Analyze current and historical financial data for account reconciliations, identify trends, and perform root cause analysis to drive issue resolution.

Prioritize workload by balancing payments, deductions, and invalid claim rebills.

Resolve all open transactions, including customer overpayments, account credits, and debits for the assigned portfolio.

Communicate and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve deductions and payments promptly.

Support the Deductions Supervisor during internal and external audits.

Assist with special projects for the Commercial Finance team and Deductions Supervisor when requested.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent experience (preferred).

Ability to work independently and as a team member.





Capacity to multi‑task and prioritize under tight deadlines.

Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to convey information clearly at all levels.

Collaboration skills with cross‑functional teams.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Result‑oriented, hands‑on, highly motivated, and autonomous, able to handle ambiguity and change.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; prior experience with SAP, Vistex, and High Radius preferred.

Compensation
Compensation Package: $42,300.00 – $56,500.00 CAD annually (target range at time of posting; final compensation will be based on experience, skills, education, and training).
