Take on a vital position with Inuvialuit Regional Corporation as a Men's Wellness & Safety Attendant. This role supports Indigenous men's recovery through a comprehensive wellness program.
In this role, you will be responsible for creating a secure and supportive atmosphere for residents at the THARP facility. By conducting safety checks, overseeing daily activities, and addressing any incidents using trauma-informed strategies, you help foster recovery. Additionally, your work supports the integration of cultural values and healing practices within the program.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure continuous safety for residents and staff
• Conduct safety rounds and respond to incidents
• Facilitate residents' daily activities and cultural events
• Keep accurate logs of observations and incidents
• Employ crisis de-escalation techniques when necessary
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years in wellness or residential settings preferred
• Certification in First Aid/CPR and non-violent crisis intervention
• Experience with Indigenous communities is highly valued
• Must be available for all shifts in a 24/7 setting
