Responsibilities Reporting to the Unit Manager, Claims Department, the Intermediate Examiner evaluates and settles commercial property insurance claims.





- Review insurance contract coverages to determine eligibility of claims - Conduct investigations by collecting claims, establishing loss amounts, negotiating and settling claims, etc.
- Evaluate the possibility of subrogation and make use of it, where appropriate - Guide and direct external suppliers to ensure efficient claims investigation, control and settlement process - Prepare correspondence and submit required reports - Process payments or denials of payment - Maintain sufficient reserves Qualifications - Claims adjuster’s license in personal lines and commercial lines - Minimum of 5 years’ experience in claims - CIP or FCIP designation or in the process of obtaining it is an asset - Intermediate level of English required in addition to French, as this position involves communicating, both verbally and in writing, with our clients, partners, and other teams across Echelon Insurance Canada on a daily basis - Excellent analytical, organizational, decision‑making and problem‑solving skills Our Commitment We are an equal chance employer and are committed to providing employment accommodations in accordance with all applicable provincial human rights and accessibility legislation.
