Job Details
Seasonal truck driver for lighter special purpose trucks (flatbed, short‑haul).
Employment length: seasonal
Work language: English or French
Hours: 30 to 60 per week
Education: None required; no degree, certificate or diploma needed
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
Responsibilities
Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations
Drive lighter special purpose trucks, flatbed and short‑haul
Load and unload goods; tarp and secure cargo
Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
Oversee vehicle condition, inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
Perform emergency roadside repairs
Perform pre‑trip, en route and post‑trip inspections and oversee all vehicle aspects
Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
Equipment & Transportation Experience
Type of trucks: extended length tractor‑trailer combination, flatbed, refrigerated, straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles), tow truck, tractor‑trailer, tractor‑trailer A train, tractor‑trailer B train
Transportation/travel experience: local, regional, short‑haul
Security & Safety
Driver licence validity check
Driving record check (abstract)
Valid driver licence
Work Conditions & Physical Requirements
Location: remote location; staff accommodation provided
Scheduling: flexible schedule (morning, evening, shift, night, on‑call, weekend, overtime available); early morning and evening options
Physical capabilities: sitting, weight handling up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
