About This Opportunity
Join U+ Gavel Club as a Youth Public Speaking Mentor Volunteer and support youth aged 8-18 as they build confidence, leadership skills, and communication abilities in a fun, supportive environment!
What You’ll Do
Encourage and support students as they deliver prepared and impromptu speeches
Provide constructive feedback to help youth improve their public speaking and presentation skills
Guide students in understanding and taking on meeting roles
Help foster a respectful, inclusive, and encouraging setting for all participants
Attend and participate in weekly or biweekly club meetings (online or in person)

Who We’re Looking For
We welcome volunteers who are enthusiastic, dependable, and eager to learn. Ideal candidates will meet the following:
Age 12-30
Passionate about volunteering and open to learning recent skills
Committed to completing basic training
Fluent in English
Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check (if over 18)
Bonus Skills
Experience in leadership, whether from school, clubs, work, or volunteer roles
Fluency or strong proficiency in a language other than English
