PURPOSE

We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience fitting, assembling, and preparing structural steel components according to drawings and specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to read blueprints, and a commitment to producing high‑quality work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Fit, align, and assemble structural steel components according to drawings and shop standards
Interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and measurements accurately
Prepare steel members for welding, bolting, and installation
Use cutting torches, grinders, magnetic drills, and other fabrication tools
Verify dimensions and ensure components meet quality requirements
Work with welders, fabricators, and shop supervisors to complete projects on schedule
Maintain a clean, secure, and organized work area
Follow all safety protocols and company procedures
Unload trailers and store material in storage bins.
Operate overhead crane to move,



assemble and select material to be fabricated or shipped.
Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping.
Operate band saw to cut structural steel materials to specified lengths.
Maintain the shop or designated area in a clean and safe manner.
Assist other employees in any of the above tasks.
Welding and Tacking Steel

SPECIAL DEMANDSPHYSICAL DEMANDSJob Types: Full time, Part time
2+ years of experience as a structural steel fitter or fabricator
Ability to read and interpret structural steel drawings
Strong knowledge of steel fabrication tools and equipment
Comfortable with measuring, layout, and precision fitting
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a shop environment
Welding experience is an asset (but not required)
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $20.61-$35.33 per hour
