With more than five years of experience, you will deliver critical legal support in areas like environmental compliance and Indigenous rights. This position reports to the Lead Legal Counsel and demands independent judgment to develop solutions and provide sound advice.
You’ll also engage in negotiations and represent Metro Vancouver in various legal matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Offer advice on environmental risk exposure and compliance
Draft and amend bylaws and regulations
Research rapidly evolving common laws
Advise on dispute resolution and litigation strategies
Conduct thorough risk assessments and provide legal guidance
Requirements:
Juris Doctor or equivalent degree with 5+ years of experience
Positive standing with the Law Society of British Columbia
Proven expertise in regulatory and Aboriginal law
Superior skills in drafting complex legal documents
Ability to communicate effectively in sensitive situations
