Team Lead, Air Import
Location: Milton, Yukon Court, Canada. Time Type: Full Time. Compensation: Salary starting at $53,540 plus eligible benefits, in accordance with experience and internal equity.

Summary
The function of the Operations Air Import Team Lead is to oversee the processing of all shipments, as well as their movement and monitoring while in transit. The role leads the handling of shipments, ensuring compliance with DSV’s corporate guidelines and government regulations. This position requires direct communication with customers, overseas offices and carriers. The Team Lead mentors and trains current staff and updates internal and external process changes from time to time.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Daily management and coordination of shipments

Lead and direct desk‑level, day‑to‑day operations of the Operations Department

Champion process and procedure to meet or exceed company KPI requirements

Establish and coordinate schedules with carriers and tender shipments

Prepare and publish reports as requested

Mentor and train new staff from time to time

Act as the first escalation point for operational and customer service issues

Proactively identify problems and swiftly implement the appropriate solution

Responsible for cost containment of shipments

Evaluate shipments, consolidate loads,



select most cost‑effective method of delivery

Daily communication with customers on relevant issues and resolution

Manage new account implementation from standard operating procedure to execution

Demonstrate deductive logic, problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills

Effectively deal with any issues that arise within scope of responsibility

Work with management to continually improve department operations with a focus on productivity

Assign and manage workflow

Responsible for team performance including staff development, recognition through daily desk‑level oversight, guidance and coaching

Perform other assigned tasks/responsibilities as directed

Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines

Manage conflicts professionally and promote teamwork

Provide operational coverage in the absence of the operator/supervisor

Quality, Health & Safety

Supports organizational commitment to ISO 9001, ISO 45001 certification – Montreal location

Perform assigned tasks to support DSV’s objectives and targets regarding quality, health, safety and environment and follow all requirements as set out in the DSV Quality Health Safety Environment policy

Ensure day‑to‑day activities embrace sustainability, health and safety, thereby reducing the impact on the environment, supporting the communities we work in and reducing incidents in the workplace

Qualifications
Education and Experience

Education in supply chain logistics,



international transportation, or a related field of study

Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a freight forwarding environment

CIFFA certificate, an asset

Dangerous Goods certification, an asset

ACR designated status, an asset (for Airfreight only)

Skills and Competencies

Proven ability as a self‑starter, with ability to plan, organize, and establish priorities to meet goals and achieve results

Good command of English language, both verbally and written

Above average customer service skills

Interpersonal skills that build respected professional relationships internally & externally

Demonstrated good leadership and management skills

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Ability to manage tight deadlines

Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills

Attention to detail and punctuality

Be authentic, approachable, open and honest

Language and Computer Skills

English is the principal language for this position, additional languages may be required in other locations

Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

CargoWise + Tango experience, an asset

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods sitting and standing at a desk and working on a computer

Regular working hours apply for this position; at times, working beyond these hours may be required by business needs
