OpportunityAt Pier 4 our portfolio of multi-family real estate assets is growing and as a result we are looking for an experienced Painter, to join our team in Southwestern Ontario, currently with buildings in Kitchener, Cambridge and Guelph. We are looking for a Painter who wants to be part of our exciting journey and is truly engaged in being an advocate of and executing, best-in-class painting and property maintenance.At Pier 4 we aspire to be the leaders in this space and at the same time we are grounded by years of expertise in property management, relationship-oriented business practices and a drive for continuous improvement. We maintain our properties with a focus on revitalization to assure our residents feel comfortable in their homes.The Painter, reports to the Property Manager and is accountable for painting and preserving the condition of properties. Our Painters are polite and qualified. They can work independently and stay focused on a task for several hours at a time. They can also stay on their feet and do physical work for most of each day.ResponsibilitiesPreparing surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, sanding, and patchingApplying paint on interior and exterior surfacesRemoving old paintFilling holes and sealing corners· Protecting surfaces from water damage, mold, and other hazards through the use of primers and other coatingsMoving ladders, paint cans, and other painting equipmentFinding ways to reduce the costs of equipment and suppliesKeeping work areas neat and cleanChecking inventory,
and requesting paint and other supplies when neededConsulting with Property Managers and other Maintenance TechniciansProviding general aesthetic maintenanceCleaning up job sites and disposing of waste materials properlyOwn work vehicleAbility to follow and complete a daily, weekly & monthly task scheduleBasic understanding of all applicable laws, legislation and rights concerning residents/landlord relations.Available for on-call duties, evenings and weekends. Hours may change based on operational needs.Willing to travel to/among various locations within Southwestern Ontario.Education, Experience and QualificationsPresent self in a manner that demonstrates the Pier 4 values of Professionalism, Integrity, Excellence and Respect.Proven relevant painting skills.Experience in Commercial painting is required.Comfortable working from heights i.E. exterior building painting and balconiesExperience painting different surfaces i.E. Line painting/exterior building paintingKnowledge and experience with exterior painting for low rise residential properties.Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills required.Ability to problem-solve, multi-task and remain detail-oriented.Ability to work independently as well as within a team.Ability to lift up to 50lbs.Possess and maintain a valid Ontario G Driver's license in good standing (clean driver's abstract)Eligible to work in Canada (will be subject to a criminal background check).High School Diploma and 5+ years of work-related experience.WHMIS training, knowledge of applicable legislation respecting residential tenancies in Ontario and the rights and obligations of Landlords and Tenants an asset.Good planning and organizational skillsKnowledge of paint and how to use common painting toolsPlenty of attention to detailLocationCambridge, Ontario (Remote)DepartmentProperty ManagementEmployment TypeFull-TimeMinimum ExperienceExperiencedCompensation$40,000 - $60,000
