Location : Fernie Secondary School, Fernie, BC

Contract Type : Full-time Temporary (1.0 FTE)

Salary Range : The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $70,392 to $119,187, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

Terms and conditions pursuant to the Collective Agreement between the Cranbrook and Fernie Teachers' Association and School District No. 5 (Southeast Kootenay).

Job Summary
Industrial Education Teacher (Woodwork/Metalwork) 8-12 & Computers Teacher 8/9. 1.0 FTE temporary contract, starting September 8, 2026 or upon completion of the posting process to March 31, 2027, or return of the incumbent. Must have a degree/formal training and/or teaching experience in Woodwork and Metalwork. Must have a Red Seal in an applicable area, or a Diploma in the Technology Teacher Education Program, or the equivalent. Must have a degree/formal training and/or teaching experience in Computers at the Secondary level.



This position is tentatively scheduled to include Woodwork 10/11/12, Metalwork 8/9, Intro to Trades 10/11/12 and Computers 8/9. Please note that all work will be on site.

Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants with BC Teacher Certification.

Degree, formal training and/or teaching experience in subjects and at a level specific to each posting.

Red Seal in an applicable area, or a Diploma in the Technology Teacher Education Program, or equivalent.

Degree/formal training and/or teaching experience in Computers at the Secondary level.

Compliance with Criminal Records Review Act.
