We’re looking for a dependable, hardworking person to join our property as an onsite animal caretaker and land management support. This is a great chance for someone who enjoys rural living, working with animals, and spending time outdoors in a hands-on role.
The position pays with free room and board, with your own private, updated home on the property. The home includes one bedroom and an office, offering comfortable on-site living in a beautiful location. If you have a horse you’d like to board, we’re open to discussing a fee/work-trade arrangement.
This would not be considered a full-time position and would allow you to pursue other opportunities or interests. There is potential for growth on the property, and there is room for advancement as our property and team grow.
Location: Just 10 minutes from Summerland and 15 minutes from Penticton.
Our property is home to horses, goats, chickens, dogs, and cats, so this role is ideal for someone who enjoys a variety of animals and a busy, rewarding setting.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Overseeing of general animal care
-Care and compassion for all the animals on the property are the number one priority
-General use of farm equipment
-Ability to throw bales of hay over fences
-Experience with farm equipment is considered an asset.
Mucking out stalls
Cleaning arenas and paddocks
Using a tractor to clean around the stalls
Using a tractor to cut the grass once a week
Watering the grass daily during the summer
Cleaning the chicken coop
Cleaning the goat house
Assisting with general animal care as needed
