Be a vital part of Main Street Project as a Van Outreach Support Worker, delivering essential services to the community. This part time position involves direct engagement and support for unhoused individuals in Winnipeg.
As a Peer Outreach Worker, you will utilize your lived experiences to connect with and assist individuals facing challenges like homelessness and substance use. This role focuses on building meaningful relationships, providing immediate support, and compiling critical care information.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure clients' immediate needs for support and services are met
• Assess safety and personal well-being of clients
• Provide care team with essential information for planning
• Complete necessary forms for assessments and referrals
• Connect with clients in various environments, including their homes
Requirements:
• First-hand experience with mental health or substance abuse issues
• Ability to pass Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector search
• Proficient communication skills for conflict resolution
• Basic computerizing and statistical reporting skills
• Possession of a Class 5 Driver's License
