NorthWest Wood Treaters LP, a wood treating plant, operating as Doman Treating is part of the Doman Treating Division, which is under the Doman Building Materials Group Ltd.

SUMMARY
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the General Labourer wraps, bands, labels, counts, and identifies lumber using various lumber handling equipment.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

Operates lumber handling equipment at various wood stacking machinery.

Apply barcode on lumber.

Bands and wraps lumber.

Occasionally hand piles wood.

Maintains a clean and organized yard.

Adheres to all work safety rules and regulations.

Adheres to customer service commitments.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Attention to detail.

Able to count and identify various lumber products.

Experience working in a lumber mill or lumber yard is desirable.

Must have own steel-toed boots.

Able to lift up to 50 pounds or 23 kilograms.

Bending, lifting, and reaching during course of shift.

Must be able to speak, read, and write English.





Forklift certification is an asset.

Level Three First Aid is an asset.

EDUCATION

High school graduation preferred.

Background in Forestry, Wood Processing is an asset.

COMPENSATION

$22.33/hr as per CBA.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS

Permanent Full-Time.

Unionized environment.

HOURS OF WORK: Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday 6:00am - 4:30pm

Work Location: 10553 Willow Cale Forest Rd, Prince George, BC V2N 4T6
Transportation: Must have own reliable transportation. The site is not located on a bus route.
