Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and support within our optometry practice. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of medical office experience and customer service skills, ensuring a seamless experience for our patients from check-in to check-out.

Responsibilities
Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes at the front desk.
Manage electronic medical records (EMR) efficiently, ensuring accurate documentation of patient information.
Conduct preliminary patient assessments, including taking medical histories and performing basic vision tests.
Provide support during eye examinations and assist the optometrist as needed.
Educate patients on proper contact lens care and eyewear options.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the office and examination rooms.
Handle retail sales of eyewear products, including frames and lenses, while providing excellent customer service.
Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth workflow and optimal patient care experience.





Qualifications
Previous medical office experience is preferred, with a strong understanding of medical terminology.
Familiarity with electronic medical records systems; experience with Epic is a plus.
Solid background in patient care, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in all interactions.
Experience in front desk operations within a healthcare setting is advantageous.
Optical experience or knowledge of eyewear products is desirable but not mandatory.
Retail sales experience is beneficial, particularly in a healthcare or optical environment.
