Work location is subject to change at the discretion of the City due to operational demands.Position OverviewThe City of Burlington is accepting applications for Specialized Program Instructor, RCC – Musical Instrument Teacher, specifically for marching percussion private teaching positions for the 2026/2027 Music Lessons session beginning in September. Expectation to instruct from introductory to intermediate level students on marching percussion instruments (snare, quads, bass, mallets) and rudiments, and in other percussion genres (e.g., concert band, jazz, rock, pop, RCM repertoire and theory exam preparation).



Hours of work will vary dependent on program need.ResponsibilitiesSpecialized Program Instructor, RCC – Musical Instrument Teacher will be responsible for the provision of private marching percussion and theory lessons.RequirementsThe successful candidate must have the following qualifications or be in the process of obtaining before first day of employment:Attendance and completion of all City of Burlington mandatory training datesA clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening at their own expenseThe ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Diploma in Music, or relevant practical experience performing and providing music lessons in marching percussion. This position requires the individual to have confidence, patience, time management, strong communication and organization skills.
