Contribute to Gordon Denny Community School in Air Ronge as an Elder/Knowledge Keeper, focusing on cultural preservation and education. This permanent, full time position engages with students and community members.

As an Elder, you will play a key role in fostering a respectful atmosphere while teaching essential skills related to First Nations and Métis cultures. You'll also assist classroom educators and facilitate engagement with at-risk youth and parent support initiatives. Your experience can help promote a sense of belonging and independence within the school.

Key Responsibilities:
• Foster pride and respect in the school community
• Assist classroom teachers with cultural knowledge integration
• Teach traditional skills,



including smudging and storytelling
• Conduct sessions with at-risk youths and support parents
• Promote cultural life skills for belonging and mastery

Requirements:
• Experience in culturally oriented education
• Ability to engage with Indigenous knowledge systems
• Strong collaborative abilities with school staff
• Cree language knowledge is an asset
• Commitment to community engagement
