Athletics and Recreation Events Assistant
Location: Various Douglas College Campuses/Satellite Campuses

Salary Range: $20-$26 hourly

The Opportunity
This position is responsible for the delivery of Athletics & Recreation events, including Game Day Operations which requires an understanding of NIRSA, PACWEST, NWAC, and CCAA leagues, policies and protocols. A successful candidate will operate within a student-centered framework to enhance student engagement, enrich the student experience, and foster an environment for student success. The Athletics & Recreation Event Assistant reports to the Manager, Athletics & Recreation Operations.

A demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and inspire students aged 17-25.





Strong communication, time management and organizational skills.

Strong computer skills with proficiency in a variety of computer applications including word processing, spreadsheet development, web-based CMS, social media applications i.e. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.

Additional Information
This contract part-time position is available from August 10, 2026 to December 31, 2026. Hours of work will vary based on event schedules each semester and will typically fall between 8:00 am and 10:00 pm. The position requires a flexible schedule based on operational needs with a possible increase up to 35 hours per week during peak periods. Evening and weekend work will be required. The position is located primarily at the New Westminster campus and will require work at all Douglas College campuses and off-site locations.

This position will remain open until filled with a first review date of July 20, 2026. Interviews may commence as early as August 3, 2026.
