Be a vital part of the Van Outreach team at Main Street Project as a Community-Focused Outreach Support Worker in Winnipeg. Your presence will be crucial in addressing the immediate needs of individuals experiencing homelessness.
This term position (0.4 FTE) involves operating throughout Winnipeg, providing essential care and transport to clients at risk. You will embody the principles of harm reduction, assisting individuals in crisis, and fostering a collaborative setting. Making a difference in our community is at the core of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver immediate aid including food, clothing, and hygiene products
• Operate and drive the Outreach Vans safely
• Respond effectively to emergencies while documenting incidents
• Monitor and locate individuals in need within encampments
• Compile and maintain accurate reporting documentation
Requirements:
• Educational background in related human services
• Experience in outreach programs is a valuable asset
• Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license
• Certifications in CPR and First Aid required
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
