Production Worker – Brooks, Alberta
With approximately 3,300 employees, JBS Food Canada ULC (“JBS Canada”) is one of Canada’s largest beef processors. Our main processing facility in Brooks, Alberta produces a wide range of beef products shipped across Canada and worldwide.
Responsibilities
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as provided by the Employer.
Work in a variety of environments including wet, humid, cold, hot, inside or outside.
Work with animal blood and various parts/contents of a butchered animal.
Transport raw materials, finished products and packaging materials throughout the plant and warehouse manually or with powered equipment.
Remove filled containers from conveyors and manually pack goods into bags, boxes, or other containers.
Measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines or mobile tank trucks.
Sanitize work areas and equipment.
Qualifications
High school diploma.
1–6 months of full‑time work experience in a physically demanding job similar to the food and beverage processing industry.
Basic English skills.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
Repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads.
Physically demanding, manual dexterity, attention to detail.
Hand‑eye coordination, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling.
Work site environment: noisy, odors, hot, cold/refrigerated.
Compensation
Competitive starting wages of $23.35 to $29.20 per hour, 40.00 hours per week as per collective agreement.
