NVIT anticipates a need for multiple Term Instructors within the Health Care Assistant program and invites applications from qualified candidates. This will be a sessional term opportunity offered in Terrace BC. Applicants should indicate which courses they are qualified for and interested in teaching.

Courses
- HTCA 169 – Clinical I (September 8-17, 2026)
- HTCA 179 – Clinical II (September 21 – October 23, 2026)
- HTCA 159 – Community Practicum (October 26 – November 6, 2026)
Qualifications & Requirements
- Possess an RN, LPN, BScN, or MSN degree with relevant teaching and research experience.
- Current BCCNM registration.
- 3-5 years’ recent experience in nursing, with 2 recent years in continuing care settings (work experience in community-based settings are a definite asset).
- Experience teaching Indigenous adult learners.
- BC Provincial Instructor’s Diploma or equivalent, or willingness to complete the PID or NAID program (some Prior Learning Assessment Recognition may be available) is an asset.
- Courses in geriatric nursing and/or gerontology would be an asset for all applicants.
- Experience in classroom teaching and learning practices with Indigenous adult learners at a college or university level.
- Robust team player with excellent human relation skills – faculty members are expected to contribute positively to the life of the school and community.
- Demonstrated understanding of Indigenous ways of knowing.
