Summary:

The Teacher Assistant helps the ECE/Teachers in the classroom to plan activities, to keep all the classroom materials in valuable condition: organized and clean, and to supervise children guaranteeing their safety and well-being.

Main responsibilities:

· Follow and implement all center’s policies and procedures

· Participate in mentoring and training students

· Supervise children to guarantee their safety and well-being

· Assist in planning experiences that support intellectual, physical, social and emotional development and learning through play exploration and inquiry

· Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits

· Role model appropriate behaviour

· Maintain clear and concise reporting of accidents, injuries, illnesses, as well as conducting health checks of children





· Ensures toys and equipment used in activities are maintained in a safe clean condition and kept in a positive state of repair.

· Provide guidance and ensure correct use of the materials

· Assist with light cleaning

· Maintains regular communication with parents

· Participate in meetings as requested

· Maintain records (daily log, check lists, Hi Mama reports, etc.)

Skills and Requirements:

· CPR

· Vulnerable Police check

· Updated immunization

· Reliable/punctual

Physical Conditions and capacities:

· Bending and kneeling thought the day

· Ability to lift 30 pounds
