We are seeking a part time casual dedicated Driver/Attendant with an applicable background to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing safe transportation and attentive patient care to and from a hospital or healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will reside in the Barrie area, have a valid driver's licence and clean abstract, experience in hospital settings, CPR/First Aid and a strong commitment to patient well-being, ensuring comfort and safety during transit and assistance.
Preference given to paramedic, nursing, or firefighter students.
Duties
Safely operate hospital vehicles to transport patients to and from various departments or appointments
Assist patients with mobility needs, including helping them into a stretcher and beds
Monitor patients during transit, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
Provide basic patient care support as needed, such as helping with mobility aids or comfort measures
Maintain cleanliness and safety of transportation equipment and vehicles
Document transportation details accurately in accordance with hospital protocols
Communicate effectively with medical staff to coordinate patient transfers and report any concerns
Skills
Prior experience working in a hospital or healthcare environment is preferred
Strong knowledge of patient care procedures and safety protocols
Excellent driving skills with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Compassionate attitude with the ability to provide attentive patient support
Strong communication skills to coordinate with medical staff and patients
Ability to remain calm and skilled in high-pressure situations
Physical stamina to assist with patient mobility and handle equipment as needed
This position offers an chance to contribute significantly to patient care while ensuring their protected transportation within the healthcare facility. Pay: $20.00-$21.00 per hour
