Key Responsibilities
Assist in the design of protection and control, revenue metering, monitoring, power quality, and related power system engineering projects
Support the design team in developing medium- and high-voltage metering, protection, and control systems
Prepare drawings, schematics, and diagrams for electrical distribution, metering, and communications systems
Support engineering calculations related to metering and protection system configurations
Assist with the review and development of vendor equipment specifications
Provide technical support to internal teams and, where appropriate, external stakeholders
Support technical proposals and solutions engineering activities
Develop an understanding of Ontario's electricity market, utility operations, and industry best practices
Other duties as required
Required Skills & Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related discipline
Registered in a recognized co-op program
Foundational knowledge of power systems, electrical safety principles, grounding, and industry standards
Experience or exposure to tools such as Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, Mathcad, MATLAB, ETAP, or other engineering software is considered an asset
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, organized, and eager to learn
Strong customer service mindset and ability to work effectively in a team workplace
Term Details, Compensation & Work Location
Term: September 2026 – December 2026 (4‑month co‑op term)
Compensation: $23.00 – $26.00 per hour, based on year of study, relevant experience, and internal equity
Schedule: 40‑hour work week
Location: Mississauga, ON
Work Arrangement: 5 days per week in‑office
