Your role
The Cloud Accounting Specialist supports clients through cloud‑based bookkeeping, reporting, and advisory services. The role focuses on accurate financial data, efficient processes, and practical insights. This person works closely with clients and internal teams to maintain clean books, streamline workflows, and enable better decision‑making. This position plays a key role in onboarding new clients to cloud systems and building internal capability by training and developing staff.

Client service delivery

Leads onboarding of recent clients into cloud accounting services

Transitions clients from desktop or manual processes to cloud solutions

Cleans up historical data and establishes accurate opening balances

Builds standardized, scalable workflows for new engagements

Trains clients on systems, processes, and best practices for recordkeeping

Identifies trends, risks, and opportunities in financial data

Responds to client inquiries and resolves accounting issues in a timely manner

Provides guidance on best practices for recordkeeping and system use





Client Relationships

Lead, mentor, train and develop staff, while providing direction and support to Managers.

Build high-performing teams through coaching, feedback, performance management and knowledge sharing.

Practice and professional development.

Lead practice and professional development initiatives that strengthen technical capability, consistency, efficiency and collaboration across the firm.

Support continuous improvement by advancing firm processes, innovation and operational effectiveness.

Mentoring

Mentors and supports junior staff on client files and cloud tools

Reviews work and provides clear, actionable feedback

Delivers training on cloud systems, workflows, and bookkeeping standards

Shares best practices and drives consistency across engagements

Practice and Professional Development

Standardizes workflows and templates across client engagements

Contributes to development of internal SOPs and training materials

Identifies inefficiencies and implements scalable solutionsIdentifies opportunities to expand services based on client needs

Builds strong client relationships and contributes to retention

What You Bring To The Table

Diploma or degree in Bookkeeping, Accounting, Finance, or related field is considered an asset.

2–5 years of bookkeeping or cloud accounting experience in public accounting or a similar environment





Progress toward or completion of CPA designation is an asset but not required

Produces accurate, well‑organized financial records

Communicates clearly with non‑accounting stakeholders

Manages multiple clients and deadlines effectively

Solves problems independently and escalates when needed

Adapts quickly to new systems and client environments

Strong experience with cloud accounting systems (QuickBooks Online preferred)

Experience with app integrations (e.g., Dext, Hubdoc, Wagepoint, Plooto, Shopify)

Experience with CaseWare and desktop accounting software is an asset

Advanced Excel skills (data cleanup, pivot tables, basic analysis)

Comfort with digital workflows and document management tools

Where you’ll work
We are currently hiring for our office in Guelph, ON

Job type

Fixed Term, Full-time for 18 months with the possibility of an extension.

Start Date: Flexible, September or October.

Your Schedule

September to June: Monday to Friday, standard hours are 7.5 hours per day. Hours increase during peak season, January to April.

July and August: Monday to Thursday, 7.5 hours per day.

Salary range
$29 - $41 per hour.
