Become an Assistant Learn to Skate Instructor with the City of Markham, helping kids aged 3-10 develop their skating skills. This role ensures a fun and protected learning experience.
As a temporary instructor, you'll work with the Head instructor to manage program delivery, safety, and participant engagement. Ideal candidates will have two years of instructional sports experience and expertise in ice sports. Availability for evening shifts from 4 PM to 9 PM and on weekends is required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Aid in organizing skating instruction for children
• Maintain a supportive and safe environment for learners
• Teach foundational skating techniques and skills
• Engage effectively with children, parents, and staff
• Follow and promote safety protocols during sessions
Requirements:
• Minimum two years of related instructional experience
• Current certifications in First Aid and CPR
• Must be at least 16 years old
• Completion of Level 1 NCCP Theory
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
