Empower the Urban Indigenous community as an Active Living Community Coordinator at Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre in Halifax. Promote healthy lifestyles and enhance physical activity for community members. In this full time role, you'll create and implement strategies that address community needs while fostering healthy living.

Collaborate with various agencies to design active living programs, and lead group activities that encourage participation. This position requires evening and weekend work and is committed to promoting social inclusion within the Indigenous community. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and coordinate the Active Living Strategy
Build partnerships with community organizations




Administer programs for all ages to enhance physical activity
Lead group-based activities to engage participants
Monitor participation rates among community members Requirements:
Degree in Recreation, Kinesiology, or Health Promotion
Experience in event organization and marketing
Robust communication and interpersonal skills
Understanding of health determinants for Indigenous peoples
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle Harness your expertise to uplift the health and wellbeing of Halifax's Indigenous community.
