Job Overview We are recruiting an experienced Tooling Engineer to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry. This is a 6‑month contract (no guarantee of extension). The role requires working all three shifts, primarily the off‑shifts (midnights and afternoons), overtime including weekends and holidays, and the ability to travel to the USA without restrictions on the start date.
Responsibilities Emphasis on delivery and continuous improvement of safety, quality, and productivity.
Interface with suppliers and product engineering.
Manage purchasing system.
Run‑off equipment per specifications at supplier and plant sites to validate capability, aid robustness, and ensure safety.
Meet all objectives through R&M;, process design, and FMEAs.
Develop plans for machine try‑out parts (MTO) – cost, quantity, location of build, quality, etc.
Lead Simo Engineering with supplier and plant staff.
Interface with plant personnel with appropriate timing and installation documentation to ensure productive and timely installation and validation.
Qualifications & Skills Five years’ experience in tool engineering (high‑speed machining).
Strong experience in a machining environment.
Expertise in tooling: speeds,
feeds, and depth of cut; equipment to facilitate tool management; continuous improvement in cost, productivity, and quality.
Ability to be flexible and adapt to a dynamic working environment and diverse team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Team player willing to take a leadership role in project settings.
Strong computer skills (MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD).
Compensation & Benefits $35.00 – $40.00 per hour (depending on experience). Paid benefits after 90 days of employment (individual and family coverage – extended medical, out‑of‑country coverage, dental, etc.).
